WSLHA's Story

First incorporated in 1972, the Washington Speech-Language Hearing Association has continued with a steadfast commitment to supporting Washington State speech-language pathologists and audiologists and promoting professional excellence in speech-language pathology and audiology. We are volunteer-led, guided by a board of 9 volunteers and multiple committees targeting various areas of clinical practice.

  • Mission: Empowering and connecting current and future professionals through advocacy, education, and leadership development, to foster equitable, inclusive, and culturally respectful collaboration with our communities.

  • Vision: An engaged and thriving community empowered to enrich communication and quality of life for all.

WSLHA is an American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) recognized state association.

Engage with Us!

We strive to represent your needs and want to engage with you!

A lot happens behind the scenes that members don't always see — committee meetings, planning discussions, advocacy work, and decisions that directly shape the support and resources available to you. Until you've sat in on a meeting or lent a hand, it's hard to fully grasp everything that goes into serving you and the profession.

Not sure what we actually do to support your career? The best way to find out is to see it firsthand. Reach out, sit in on a committee meeting, or volunteer for a project — we'd love to have you, and you might be surprised by how much is happening on your behalf.

Change is Coming

Saying Goodbye to 92507: WSLHA's Clinical Practice Committee has been working hard to stay on top of information as it's released regarding the upcoming deletion of 92507 and adoption of 10 new timed codes.  The committee has hosted 4 Sip & Chats, open to all interested SLPs. Watch for another Sip & Chat in August to discuss CMS's release of the new code set's valuation, followed by a live webinar for Billing & Documentation in October, and a live case study workshop for Coding & Billing using the new codes in November.
