Ethics

As of 2020, the WSLHA Board of Directors officially adopted the ASHA code of ethics. As ASHA and now WSLHA state, a Code of Ethics is intended to ensure the welfare of the consumer, and to protect the reputation and integrity of the professionals and the profession itself. A Code of Ethics provides a framework and focused guide for professionals in support of the day-to-day decision making related to professional conduct. The Code is partly obligatory and disciplinary and partly aspirational and descriptive in that it defines the professional’s role. Any breach of ethics should be reported to the state licensing/credentialing agencies as well as ASHA, as applicable.
